Mangaluru: Kanachur Hospital and Research Centre inaugurated its paramedical Courses (Bachelor of Physiotherapy, BSc (Medical Laboratory Technology), BSc (Optometry) and BSc (Nursing) at its premises on Monday, September 26.
A host of dignitaries symbolically inaugurated the professional courses by releasing the brochure.
Forest and district in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai who spoke on the occasion lauded Kanachur group chiarman U K Monu for his determination and will power to start the college. “U K Monu has done something great which he always dreamt of. Mangaluru is one city which known as the education hub of India. There are as many as 8 medical colleges in the district. Kanachur College is a young college. It will surely grow to be a great one,” he said.
Nitte Univeristy, Pro-Chancellor, Dr. Shantharam Shetty said, “It’s not an easy job to start a medical college. We dream, but cannot convert those dreams into reality. U K Monu is rightly a man with tenacity and will to achieve dreams. This college initially faced problems, but has now cleared all those hurdles. The staff and the management have to get together and work hard to achieve glory. I wish that this college grows to greater heights”.
Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Mangalore University, K Byrappa said that the number of doctors produced in India are not enough for the huge population and thus we need to produce good and quality medical professionals to serve in urban as well as rural areas.
Mangaluru South constituency, MLA, J R Lobo, Police Commissioner M Chandra Sekhar and Former MP D.K. Taradevi too spoke on the occasion.
Earlier, Chairman of Kanachur Group, U K Monu welcomed the guests and the gathering. Director and Trustee, Kanachur Hospital, Abdul Rahiman delivered the vote of thanks.
