Mangaluru: To mark the 20th Anniversary of victory in ‘Operation Vijay’, the Kargil War- National Cadet Corps (NCC) of St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru celebrated this day at its Conference Hall.
The Kargil Vijay Diwas is the day of pride for the nation in general. It is the day to remember the Martyrs, rejoice their sacrifices and strengthen the resolve of the Armed Forces to the cause of the Nation. With this regard, Lt Col Gracian Sequeira, Administrative Officer, 18 Karnataka Battalion NCC was the Chief Guest of the occasion.
Lt Col Gracian Sequeira in his address enlightened the students regarding the value and standard of Indian Military and stressed on the righteous cause for the celebration of Kargil Diwas.
Sr Dr Jeswina A. C. presided over the programme.
During the programme, Ranks were honoured to the cadets of Army Wing. The Cadets showcased the role of Indian Army.
Dr R Nagesh, Ex-Serviceman, HOD Department of Hindi delivered a talk on the significance of the day.
Lt Gayathri B.K-ANO, Army Wing, Dr Hithakshi Anand of Air Wing, Dr Tressy Menezes, In-charge of NCC, St Agnes PU College along with faculty and staff were present.
