IETE 68th Foundation Day organized by Mysuru Centre

Mysuru: The Institution of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) Mysuru Centre celebrated Foundation Day recently, Dr Mohana H S Principal, Navkis College, Hassan was the Chief Guest and Dr Srikanth P C was the Guest of Honor. The event was organized by IETE Mysuru Centre, Prof. Nataraj C R, Chairman, IETE Mysuru centre, Dr Bhagyashree S R, Vice-chairperson, IETE Mysuru Centre, Dr Parameshachari B D, Hon. Secretary, IETE Mysuru centre, Professor & HOD, Dept. of TCE, GSSSIETW, Mysuru, Dr Narasimha Kaulgud, HOD E&C Dept, NIE Mysore, Dr. M V Satyanarayana, Former Professor & Head, Dept. of ECE, GSSSIETW, Mysuru and Ex Principal, Malnad College of Engineering were present on the occasion. EXECOM Members of IETE Mysuru centre, students & faculty from various colleges participated in the Event.

The session commenced with the invocation followed by lighting of the Lamp and the welcoming of the guests & the dignitaries.

IETE Mysuru Centre felicitates and confers the Award of Distinguished Member to  Dr Mohana H S Principal, Navkis college of Engineering and  Dr Srikanth P C Professor and Head Dept. of ECE, Malnad College of Engineering, Hassan for their outstanding contribution to the IETE Mysuru Centre and remarkable achievement in their respective fields.

The IETE President Prof. P Prabhakar, in his message, emphasized the importance of skill development to empower students from Academic, Vocational & informal Learning. The role played by IETE is crucial for students to learn the latest developments in the Industry through Webinars, Conferences, Paper presentation competitions which are not available in a Curriculum-based academic environment.

The Chief Guest Dr. Mohana H S spoke about how the IETE has progressed over the years from its founding in 1953 to the present and emphasized its importance in his speech. Dr Srikanth P C in his address expressed concerns on why it is not possible for students to publish research and develop new software & technology from Indian Institutes while the same Indian talent does exceptionally well in foreign Institutions leading to the development of new software, technology, devices & the likes.IETE-68th-Foundation-Day-organized-by-poster

Prof Nataraj C R in his speech shared his excellent experiences and fond memories with the notable guests and expressed joy in being able to conduct the program physically. The event was coordinated by Mrs Pavithra A C, Asst. prof. Dept. of E & C, ATMECE. Mrs Vidyashree & Mr Romith Rao Technical Officers, IETE Mysuru Centre. The mastering of the event was done by Ms Sanjana Manohar, the Welcome speech by Mr Syed Sufiyan & the introduction of the Guests was done by Ms Kusuma the students of ATMECE, Mysuru.
