Mangaluru: Padma Shri Awardee Social Activist Sri. Harekala Hajabba opined that National Service Scheme is a complementary platform for youth to build a healthy society and he also said that students will be able to develop socially and personally by participating in various activities of the National Service Scheme after inaugurating the NSS annual special camp on 26.06.2023 held at Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat Higher Primary School and Madanul Ulooma Madrasa, Manjanady which was organised by NSS Unit Yenepoya Pharmacy College and Yenepoya Nursing College together with Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru and Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports, Government of Karnataka.
Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) Vice Chancellor Dr M Vijayakumar said that the campers and students should follow the objectives and values of the National Service Scheme throughout their lives and if they adopt it, it will help to learn how to lead a life of dignity with a positive mindset and to develop a sense of social responsibility.
Yenepoya Pharmacy College Principal Dr Mohammad Gulzar Ahmed welcomed the special camp gathering and introduced all the guests. Nursing College Principal Dr Leena K.C delivered the presidential address and she said that these types of programs instil social anxiety in students and suggested to both college students to do all activities nicely so that it will remain in the minds of the school students and people of the Manjanady Grama.
YMCH Medical Superintendent Dr Habib Rahman, NSS Coordinator Dr Ashwini Shetty, Yenepoya Dental College NSS Programme Officer Dr Imran, Manjanadi Gram Panchayat President Kausar Banu, Dr Ramya PDO, Surekha School Headmistress, Madrasa President Abdul Hameed, Secretary Muneer, Gram Panchayat Members, College and Hospital staff were present. NSS program officers of both colleges Mohammed Asif and Renita Priya organized the camp. Renita Priya thanked the guests, staff, NSS volunteers, school and panchayat members, people of Manjanady and everyone who had been there for the inaugural event.
