Gurukul school students’ march past leaves audience spellbound

Kundapura: Sports provides immense opportunities to students in school to inculcate discipline, dedication and strive for excellence, opined Udupi ASP N.Vishnuvardhan while inaugurating the sports day celebrations of Gurukul School, Vakwady near Koteshwar in Kundapura.

Additional Superintendent of police and Anti Naxal force chief N. Vishnuvardhan who was the chief guest on the occasion addressed the gathering after inaugurating the 11th annual sports day celebrations in the school premises on November 12.

Moved by an orderly march past of the students, the ASP said, being obedient to parents and teachers help students to attain highest level of excellence in their future.

The entire gathering stood still, when the students of NCC wing from grade 8 to grade 12 marched in front of the guest of honour. The lively band, students marching in tandem to the rhythm of the band took parents and police officials present at the venue by surprise.

The little children of the school presented Parachute dance and exhibited Karate skills on the occasion enthralling the entire crowd.

Bhandya educational society’s joint managing trustee K.Subash Chandra Shetty presided over the sports day celebrations. Another trustee Anupama S Shetty and Principal of Gurukul public school Shaiju K R Nair were present on the dais.

Gurukul pre University College principal Channabasappa welcomed the gathering. Physical instructor gave instructions to students during the march past and teacher Sushma delivered the vote of thanks.
