
Mangaluru: ‘Dhwani’ Cultural Fest 2020 organized by the Father Muller College of Speech and Hearing (FMCOSH) was inaugurated on 5th March 2020 in the Academy Hall of Father Muller Charitable Institutions.
The name ‘Dhwani’ was chosen considering the association of the sense of hearing to the field of speech and hearing and this name will further remain constant for the upcoming cultural of FMCOSH, ‘X MEN’, ‘AVENGERS’, ‘ JUSTICE LEAGUE’ were the teams competing with each other. The off-stage cultural competitions (29th February to 4th March 2020) were followed by the onstage competitions (5th March to 7th March)
The inaugural function commenced with an unveiling of the theme. The program was inaugurated by the Chief guest Dr. Devina E Rodrigues, Vice Principal FMCON, and Rev. Fr Richard Coelho, Director, FMCI. The other dignitaries who presided over the inaugural ceremony were Administrator FMMCH, Rev. Fr Rudolf Ravi D’sa Chief of research FMCI, Dr.B Sanjeev Rai, Rev. Fr Nelson Dheeraj Pais, and Prof Akhilesh P.M. Principal, FMCOSH.
Dr. Devina E Rodrigues, Rev. Fr Richard Coelhoand Prof. Akhilesh PM addressed the gathering on the occasion. The Valedictory program was held on the 3rd day of the cultural event at 4 pm and which was preceded by Rev.Fr. Richard Coelho.
The overall championship was bagged by the team “JUSTICE LEAGUE” while the runners-up trophy was won by the team ‘AVENGERS’. An event like ’Dhwani’, a three-day cultural extravaganza is a platform where the students are blessed with an opportunity to display their talents and team spirit.
Offstage events included face painting, Mehendi, Cold cookery, Painting, Rite your heart out, Trash to treasure, Eating competition, Potpourri, Collage
Onstage events included Semiclassical dance, Band Baja Barat, Spot dance, Fusion singing, Mime, Moviemaking, Non-thematic, Talent cocktail, Antakshari, Photography, Secret event, Skit, Fashion show
