Mangaluru: The inaugural ceremony of the 21st Batch of M.D(Hom) course for the academic year 2018-19 was held on Saturday, October 20, in the PG Seminar Hall.
The inaugural programme began with a prayer song.
Principal, Dr Shivaprasad K, welcomed the gathering. The course was inaugurated with a lamp lighting ceremony, by the dignitaries along with students’ representative of the new batch. This was followed by a short self-introduction by new students and welcome by the seniors with a rose.
Rev Fr Vincent Saldanha in his message, highlighted the purpose of post graduate and research-oriented studies. He also urged the students to be committed towards the profession and to come out as dedicated doctors to serve humanity.
Director, Father Muller Charitable Institutions Rev. Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho, presided over the programme.
At the outset, he congratulated the students and motivated them to work hard and to sharpen their clinical skills. He mentioned to make use of the facilities and the infrastructure made available in the institution.
He also stressed about the duties of a physician.
Vice Principal, Dr E S J Prabhu Kiran, proposed the vote of thanks.
Assistant Administrator, Rev Fr Sylvester Lobo, Rev Fr Peter Noronha, and the faculty members were present during the occasion.
Dr Sowmya A. compered the programme.
The programme concluded with the institution anthem.
