Mangaluru: Father Muller Medical College Hospital- hospital infection control department and nursing service department along with BD India organised the Medical Exhibition and Information On Safe Injection/Infusion Services (MEOSIS) from January 23 to 25. The inaugural of Meiosis was held at 9.30 am on January 23.

Rev. Fr. Ajith Menezes, Administrator, Father Muller Medical College was the President of the function, Dr. Bala Murali, Clinical Resource Consultant was the chief guest, Dr. Om Prakash Kansal, WHO consultant BD India was the guest of honour, and Dr. Jaya Prakash Alva, Dean of FMMC, Dr. Udayakumar Medical Superintendent FMMCH, Sr Janet D’Souza, Chief Nursing Officer FMMCH, Dr. Rekha BHIC Convenor and Dr. Thomas S K, HICO were the dignitaries on the dias.

The programme was initiated with a prayer song.

Dr. Thomas, HICO, welcomed the gathering after which the traditional ceremony of the lighting of the lamp was carried out. Dr. Bala Murali briefed the gathering about MEOSIS. Dr. Kansal explained about safe injection/infusion practices and safety practices.

Rev. Fr. Ajith Menezes in his presidential address, stressed upon the safety measures which has to be followed by all health care personnel during injection/infusion procedures. Neha Joy, ANS, proposed the vote of thanks.

The programme was concluded with the institutional anthem at around 10.15 am.
