
Mangaluru: The Department of B. Voc in Digital Media and Film Making at Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheswara College, Ujire, hosted a state-level webinar on the topic of “News and Digital Media: Career Opportunities” on May 22 Saturday.
Srinivas Pejathaya, Editor of News Karnataka, was the event’s resource person. He emphasised on the importance and possibilities of a portfolio in getting a job today. “It’s also important to be creative these days. Even a print media requires a digital desk today. So, there are numerous opportunities to become a digital specialist,” said Srinivas.
In the discussion, he mentioned that when we think of digital, we just think of cities. This is no longer the case; even villages are evolving and that too in terms of content also. “The phrase “think locally, act globally” has been replaced with “think globally, act locally,” added Srinivas.
Dr. Sathischandra, Principal Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheswara College, Dr. Bhaskara Hegde, Hed of the Department, Suveer Jain, Course Coordinator, Ashwini Jain, Webinar Coordinator, Madhava Holla, Assistant Professor, B.Voc. students, lecturers from various departments, and students from several colleges attended the webinar.
