Mangaluru: Milagres College, Mangalore Department of Languages, IQAC and MICAA in collaboration with Chair in Christianity, Mangalore University is organising “Bhasha Sangam 2023”, a one-day multilingual national level symposium on “Language and Religion: Explorations and Interrelations” scheduled to be held in the College Auditorium, on July 01 2023, at 9 AM.
Bhasha Sangam 2023 will be inaugurated by the President of the Symposium Rt. Rev. Dr Peter Paul Saldanha Bishop of Mangalore and President of CBE. The Chief Guest and Keynote Address will be delivered by Prof Purushothama Bilimale, Retd. Professor, JNU, New Delhi. Rev. Fr Bonaventure Nazareth, Correspondent, Milagres Educational Institutions, Fr Michael Santhumayor, The Principal and Campus Director, Fr Ivan Dsouza, Head, Chair in Christianity, Mangalore University will be present.
Technical Sessions in English, Hindi, Kannada, Latin, Sanskirt, Tulu and Konkani Languages will be held. Dr Ajakkala Girish Bhat, Rev. Dr Rudolph R. Pinto, Dr Shridhara N Bhatta, Dr Suma T Rodannavara, and Prof Purushothama Bilimale are the eminent resource persons who will be sharing their esteemed knowledge on the topic in the Technical Sessions.
The Valedictory Ceremony of Bhasha Sangam will be held at 1 PM.
Academicians, research scholars, lecturers, religious leaders, nuns and students of various universities of the state and outstation are expected to present for the Symposium. In a Press Note, the College Principal Rev Fr Michael Santhumayor mentioned that the delegates of this conference will be provided with an OOD facility.
