Mangaluru: The Fourteenth episode of Career Guidance with Prof. Ronald Pinto on ‘ Careers in Pure and Applied Sciences’ was premiered on Friday December 17.
Brian Fernandes, Director of Spearhead Media Group hosted the show by NewsKarnataka, which is powered by Loyala College, Bengaluru.
Brian introduced the session and sought the difference between Pure Science and Applied Science.
Answering Brian, Prof. Ronald Pinto said, Pure Science are basically theories and the future scope is only in teaching and research and development whereas Applied Sciences are getting popular these days and are quick job facilitators.
Detailing the subjects available under both the streams, Prof. Pinto explained the jobs schemes of the course. Stating the best colleges for the same in South India as well as Karnataka, he said, NAAC and NIRF rank the best colleges based on their standards.
He also emphasied, Research based postgraduation as the best of the choice among Pure Sciences.
