Mangaluru: AIMIT-MBA students, as a part of their “Service Learning Project’’, collaborated with the Railway Protection Force (RPF) in order to create awareness about the helpline number 182, a railway passenger security helpline number, on February 24.

A realistic role play was demonstrated, depicting a student getting tricked by a thief when she places her phone for charging using the public plug point. Chaos prevailed till she dialed the helpline number and Bharath Raj, Sub-Inspector attended to the plea and sent forth his staff to catch hold of the thief and get him to the place of the crime.

The public was taken aback with the realistic scenario created and it was very influential. Flyers were distributed and the relevance of the Helpline number -182 was explained by Bharath and the students in the local languages.
