AICTE MODROB to upgrade MITE Aircraft Struct Lab

Mangaluru: The Aeronautical Engineering department of Mangalore Institute of Technology and Engineering has received funding of Rs. 15 lakhs from the AICTE MODROB Scheme for the up-gradation of the Aircraft Structures Lab. The state-of-the-art center now has industrial standard Advanced Vibration analysis equipment like 3D Accelerometer, 1D Accelerometer, NI’s Data Acquisition system with high-end desktop workstation, LabVIEW Software, 3B Vibration Generator, and Function generator, Impact hammer, GRAS microphone, Shear center test rig and 3-axis digital strain gauge.

The Advanced Vibration Analysis center was inaugurated on 4th September 2021 by Dr GL Easwara Prasad, Principal of Mangalore Institute of Technology and Engineering, Dr G Purushotham, AICTE-MODRBOS Coordinator & Head, Department of Aeronautical Engineering, MITE and Deans and HODs of various department.

Rajesh Chouta, The Chairman, Rajalaxmi Education Trust, conveyed his wishes and said “The up-gradation of the Lab with the latest equipment will help students, faculties, and research scholars to work on innovative ideas and develop the solutions that are unique.”

Dr GL Easwara Prasad addressed the gathering and said, “The center is going to serve the requirements of ongoing research in the field of Aeronautics / Aerospace and help the students to develop research aptitude in their career.”

Elaborating on the outcome of the center, Dr G Purushotham, AICTE MODROB Coordinator, said “The availability of Advanced Equipment within the campus is very crucial to the overall development of UG, PG students, and research scholars. The Centre aims to provide quality research platform within the campus and help the students to achieve great research foundation for their career. The students and research scholars from other Institutes can also utilize the equipment in the centre for research purposes”.

Dr G Purushotham, Head of the department welcomed the gathering. Sujesh Kumar explained and showed the demo of the new equipment to the gathering.
