Udupi: The 3-day annual sports event at St. John’s Academy which was inaugurated on December 1, completed successfully on December 3.The inaugural function was attended by Rev. Fr. Leslie D’Souza (Correspondent, St. John’s Academy), Rev. Fr. Vincent Coello (Principal, St. John’s Academy), Franklin Mascarenhas (HM, English Medium), Mohan Shetty (HM, High School, Kannada Medium), Sr. Winny D’Souza (HM, Primary School English Medium), Irine D’Souza (HM Primary Kannada Medium), John Rodrigues (President PTA, Primary), Leena D’Souza (President, PTA High School) and Ram Rav (President, PTA Primary Eng. Med).

All the students from the English Medium, Kannada Medium and PU College took part in the 3-day sports events enthusiastically and won the prizes and respect from the fellow students as well as teachers.

All the teaching staff was involved in conducting the unique sports event to make it more interesting and successful. It was a treat to watch the little students participating in the sports events especially running races and other sports such as high jump and long jump. The High School and PU College students were the best in sport events such as Short Put, Discus Throw, 200mt race and 400mt race and final relay races supported by their squad mates.

Loads of efforts were put to make the 3-day sports event successful. PT teacher’s job needs to be applauded especially Domian Noronha, Divakar Shetty and Sadashiv Achar equally supported by Franklin Mascarenhas (HM, English Medium), Mohan Shetty (HM, High School, Kannada Medium), Sr. Winny D’Souza (HM, Primary School English Medium) and Irine D’Souza (HM Primary Kannada Medium). The regular announcements were done by Naveen (PU Lecturer) and Saritha (Teacher- English Medium Primary).

All the winners were honoured with medals and certificates.

Prior to the conclusion, the sports flag was lowered and respectfully taken around the ground by leaders of Four Squads and finally with honour handed over to the Management.
