Mangaluru: Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital (FMHMCH) observed “World Cancer Day” with the WHO motto “we can I can” On February 19 at 10 am in the outpatient department of FMHMCH.

The chief guest for the occasion was Vijaya Krishnappa, Belma Panchayath President. Dr. Shivaprasad K, Principal, FMHMC welcomed the gathering, followed by the chief guest, Vijaya Krishnappa, who gave her message on causes of cancer, the relevance of cancer screening and awareness to the public.

Rev. Fr. Sylvester Vincent Lobo, Assistant Administrator at FMHMCH presided over the function and highlighted the goodness and efficiency of the Homoeopathic system of medicine in the treatment of cancer.

Dr. Sajan K R, HOD Community Medicine proposed the vote of thanks. Dr. ESJ Prabhu Kiran, Vice Principal, FMHMC also joined the inaugural programme.

The children from various schools around Deralakatte, patients and out patients, and the locals curious about the disease participated actively by attending the inaugural programme as well as the exhibition on cancer awareness.

The post graduates and interns of FMHMC participated enthusiastically in the cancer awareness programme by explaining about the specimens and models and projecting educational videos on cancer.
