Mumbai: On Prime Minister Modi’s 69th birthday, Bollywood star Akshay Kumar shared the first-look of a film that is based on the life of PM Modi and is being produced by ace filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

The new film, titled “Mann Bairagi”, will be one-hour long and was described by the filmmakers as a special feature meaning that it would be more along the lines of a short feature.

The upcoming film is written and directed by Sanjay Tripathy. Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Mahaveer Jain are the co-producers.

When Bhansali was asked why he had decided to produce the film, the Bollywood director said, “he story was very well-researched, and the turning point of our PM’s life as a young man, really intrigued me. I felt that it’s an unheard story which needs to be told.”

Confident that the film will resonate with audiences across the country, Tripathy said, “For me, it’s a human interest story about the self-discovery of a person who went on to become such a strong leader of our country.”

“Mann Bairagi brings out that defining moment in the journey of our PM which has not been in public knowledge so far. I am sure it will connect and inspire today’s youth deeply, and that’s what excited us to work on this film,” he added.

This is not the first time a film has been made on Modi. Earlier this year actor Vivek Anand Oberoi was seen playing the Indian Prime Minister in the film “PM Narendra Modi”.

A web-series too was made on the leader’s life titled “Modi: Journey of a Common Man”.
