Chetan Bhagat’s ‘Five Point Someone’ in DU syllabus replacing Tagore, Ghosh; Twitter shocked!

New Delhi: When most universities prefer making William Shakespeare and George Orwell part of their syllabus, Delhi University has included Chetan Bhagat’s bestseller “Five Point Someone” as a popular literature paper and an elective. The most shocking decision was to replace acclaimed writers Rabindranath Tagore and Amitav Ghosh with Bhagat.

Chetan Bhagat took to Twitter to announce this move. However, the shocked Twitterati had mixed reactions which even mocked the popular fiction author for being included in DU university syllabus.

Vinay Kumar Dokania, tweeted, “Those who study @chetanbhagat’s books in Literature UG course of DU will end up getting #HalfDegrees.”

Saurabh tweeted, “Yeah ! If they take it seriously, imagine DU graduates saying, “Myself, graduation from village area sir.”

Nitu Jha says on Twitter, “Actually, this book will be used as an example of what you could end up doing if you fail in literature.”

Kishlaysharma, tweeted, “Time for William Shakespeare, John Keats,William Wordsworth etc etc. to thank their stars that they are not here…”

Another Twitter user said, “Please someone tell him SEX Education is not Literature” while another tweeted, “I think the page no.56 & 57 very helpful for students.”
