Jaane Jaan, Netflix’s original film though slow-paced has a very engaging screenplay which keeps you hooked to the screen till the very end. Excellent direction by ace director Sujoy Ghosh. The real star of this film is Jaideep Ahlawat who gives a power-packed performance rarely seen in Hindi films recently. The climax of the film is extraordinary. Nobody can predict when the film is heading to end normally.
The film which is set in a hill station revolves around a murder which is straight away told to the audience without any mystery. But what happens afterwards is an exciting story which gives a thrilling experience. This well-written film is an adaptation of the Japanese bestselling novel ‘ The Devotion of Suspect X’. Drishyam film also used a similar plot from the same novel but it had totally localised it. Other than that plot there are no similarities.
Kareena Kapoor has done a good job in a serious role. She doesn’t get to shine her normal self on screen but underplays her role very well. Vijay Varma as a cop investigating the murder is excellent and very likeable.
Director Sujoy Ghosh has given good attention to details. Real-life locations on the hill station make the film more relatable. The cinematography is good and the background music is adequate.
Overall a must-watch film for the class audience which will make them think about the story even after the film has ended.
