Mumbai: HCG Pinkathon the multi-city 10km run for women, announced the completion of 10,000 registrations this year across four cities, Bangalore, New Delhi, Pune and Mumbai on Wednesday November 27.

The stunning Bipasha Basu, a pink sister was seen extending her support for the event for the second consecutive year and has always been in support of the cause.

Registrations for the second edition of Mumbai “HCG Pinkathon – Run to Lead” to be held on Sunday December 15, 2013, are currently open. The focus of the international running event is to encourage womens health and fitness and create much needed awareness against breast cancer.

In India, where more than one lakh women will be newly diagnosed with breast cancer by 2015 there is tremendous need to educate people about the causes and prevention of the much neglected condition.

Bipasha Basu said, “It gives me immense pride and joy to join 10,000 women in support of a noble endeavour like HCG Pinkathon for the second year. I believe each of us need to be conscious and watchful against a condition like breast cancer all the time. HCG Pinkathon is doing something praiseworthy when it comes to spreading awareness and educating women about causes and prevention through the run. I am looking forward to supporting the cause and congratulate Mumbaikars for doing the same.”

Milind Soman said, “Mumbai is the city where HCG Pinkathon first began and I am glad that 10,000 pink sisters have come forward to support the run this year. We thank each of them for the stand they are taking and are confident that the great city will support the cause with passion and enthusiasm. The need is tremendous and making a positive difference to the way women understand the condition in India gives us a sense of fulfilment and happiness.”

HCG Pinkathon has been conceptualised and executed by, Maximus MICE and Media Solutions, led by avid runner and fitness enthusiast Milind Soman together with Reema Sanghavi.  Maximus Events has joined hands with the Womens Cancer Initiative (WCI) led by Deveika Bhojwani and the Tata Memorial Hospital for the unique initiative.
