New Delhi: From January 1 onwards, Air India will only serve hot vegetarian meals in the economy class on its domestic flights with a flying time between 61 minutes and 90 minutes.
According to media reports, the national carrier has decided to bring in this change because of time constrains.
“While non-vegetarians would eat a hot vegetarian meal, it won’t be the other way round,” said a source.
The report says tea and coffee would not be included in the menu and this initiative is to save time and avoid other tantrums occurs while serving non-vegetarian meals.
Air India has five categories of flights on the domestic sectors:
Breakfast – 5.30 am to 9.30 am
High tea – 9.30 am to 11.30 am and 3 pm to 6.30 pm
Lunch – Noon to 2.30 pm
Supper – 6.30 pm to 10.30 pm
Dinner – 11 pm onwards
