Priests are always known to be the kindest of men, and the recent confession of the celebrity Catherine O’Hara of how a priest got himself into trouble to keep her happy on a Vatican trip sure proves this.
We all remember her as Kate, the mother of a seven year old boy in the very popular movie Home Alone that Macaulay Culkin is till today so known for.
Now, all of 69, the star, still beautiful, makes a trip down memory lane, amusing fans at the Kelly Clarkson show.
And what does the Home Alone mum have to share? No, this is not something to do with the movie she is known for. More interestingly, it is to do with one of her more hilarious experiences which took place at the Vatican, on a trip which was supposed to be a wedding present by director Tim Burton.
More interestingly, the actress calls the trip there with her husband Bo Welch as more of an adventure. The couple’s curiosity on seeing everything at the Vatican sadly got a poor priest in trouble.
They were inside, peeping into the priest’s closet, when another priest, on passing by, held the priest showing them around responsible, yelling at him in the process. Good for him, the yelling was in Italian, to spare the couple from knowing all that the poor priest had to hear.
Now if you are staunch Catholic and a lover of priests, you may not find it all hilarious. But considering that mistakes happen and all is forgiven, we can take a moment to laugh it all, and appreciate the kindness of the priest, who gave in to the curiosity of the then young couple.
The priest was in fact, more than generous to the young and interested couple, giving them a good look at all the glittery and not so glittery gifts that came into the Vatican. The couple went about opening cases, looking inside boxes and simply goofing around like two young kids suddenly given permission to enter into a place that is forbidden.
The priest sure chose to understand, and we have to give him the credit for him in a day and age where people expect more transparency from a place like the Vatican.
