In preparation for the Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has unveiled its fifth list of contenders for seats in 16 states.
Actor Kangana Ranaut and former Calcutta High Court Judge Abhijit Gangopadhyay are two of the new faces. The former judge will compete from the Tamluk seat in West Bengal, while Ranaut has been fielded from the Mandi seat in Himachal Pradesh.
As part of the fifth list, a total of 111 candidates have been fielded for seats in Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Sikkim, Odisha, Mizoram, Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka, Jharkhand and Himachal Pradesh.
