Mysore :District In-Charge Minister V. Sreenivasa Prasad this morning clicked a mouse to launch www.mysoredasara.gov.in, the official website for Dasara-2014, developed by city-based software company named Dot Angle in association with National Information Centre and District Administration at the office of Deputy Commissioner in city.
Speaking after launching the website, he said that the website will comprise Dasara flavour and Mysore culture, complete coverage of all Dasara-related activities in Kannada and English with responsive designing (for compatibility with iPod, iPhone and other instruments like desktops, laptops and tablets) will be updated on the website.
Continuing, he said that Public Eye, a section displaying pictures clicked by people, will also be featured in the website. Tourists can apply online to get details of all Dasara-related activities and the website will also feature live webcast of all major events to be held during the 10-day fest starting from Sept. 25.
Janata Savari: Details for public will also be available with an information gallery to provide details on Jumboo Savaris of recent times and heritage buildings in city and 50 hot tourist spots in and around the city with date-wise details of events, parking places with Google map.
Prasad further said that all information on resorts, hotels, restaurants for accommodation will also be updated in the website and added that Dasara web forum with details on all Dasara activities can be obtained by mailing [email protected]
Air Show: Deputy Commissioner C. Shikha, speaking on the occasion, said that talks were on with the officials concerned for holding Air Show during the forthcoming ‘Naada Habba.’
Office-bearers of sub-committees: Dwelling upon the issue of naming members to various Dasara Sub-Committees, Prasad said that the list of Presidents and Vice-Presidents will be prepared and announced in next two days and added that tenders for filling up of potholes in city roads at a cost of Rs. 2 crore before Dasara, has been invited.
