Mysore: Rani Pramoda Devi, the wife of the late Srikantadutta Wodeyar of the Mysore royal family, has said that the government should first resolve the Mysore Palace Row. A heir would then be appointed,” she added.
Speaking to reporters here, Pramoda Devi said if the government fails to solve the problem, then let it celebrate Dasara privately. It is impossible to appoint a heir when the controversy is raging. We are ready for an out-of- court settlement. But the government has until now not invited us for talks, she said.
The future generation should not face the problems we suffer, she added.
“The Dasara celebrated by Government is a private festival, while the Dasara is a religious practice for the royal family. “How can the government organise Dasara festivities without the help of the royal clan?” she questioned.
Rani Pramoda Devi also shed tears remembering her husband late Srikantadatta Wodeyar.
