Mangalore-based tourist stranded in Srinagar

Mangalore: A 41-year-old Mangalorean, Naresh Nandha Madhava, who had been to Srinagar on a company tour, is stranded atop a hill in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir for the last four days.

He is one among the 250 persons hailing from Karnataka stranded in the flood. Among them two are from Udupi and one from Mangalore, reports said.

Surekha Naresh, wife of Madhava said that he left Mangalore on Thursday to Srinagar as part of his company tour. He was accompanied by 72 colleagues from Chennai. He was supposed to reach Chennai on Monday, the anxious wife said.

When asked about the last conversation, she said that her husband called her over phone yesterday, and is said to be safe. He told to me that the flood-water has touched the first floor of the hotel but expressed confidence to come home in few days, she told newskarnataka.com
