Mangaluru: During  the course of the communal violence that  tore through parts of the city and outskirts on December 8, several incidents of stabbing were reported. Another one was however,  reported late in the evening.

At Goodshedde, a person was stabbed allegedly by two persons who came on a bike. The victim has been identified as Yogish, who runs a petty shop in the locality.

It is said that unidentified assailants came on the bike and asked for cigarettes, when Yogish turned to get them, they stabbed him on the back. They fled the spot immediately.

Yogish was later hospitalized.

Other stabbing incidents

In another incident, a person named Vinay was stabbed by miscreants, who came on the bikes and fled from the spot. A stabbing incident was also  reported from Maripalla, where a person identified as Jayant was seriously injured, and a man named Mohammed Sharif, a chicken trader was also stabbed allegedly by sangh parivar activists in Kunjathbail.

A day before, on December 7, late night,  two persons were assaulted at different locations, one in Bunder and other in Bajpe.
