Mysore: The cultural city is all set for the nine-day Naada Habba after the Litterateur Girish Karnad inaugurated the Dasara Mahotsava at Sri Chamundeshwari Temple atop Chamundi Hills on Thursday September 26 along with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
Heritage structures, streets, junctions, government offices and other prominent places have been illuminated.
Siddaramaiah and his cabinet colleagues inaugurated the Dasara sports meet at Chamundi Vihar stadium, Dasara arts expo at Kalamadir, film fest, adventure sports, food mela, wrestling contest, Health Dasara, flower show, Dasara exhibition, Kannada book fair, Navaratri Rangotsav, Dasara illumination and cultural programmes added flair to the city.
‘Health Dasara’
Heath Dasara was inauguration by U T khadar, State Health Minister along with Prof G K Govind Rao.
Speaking on the occasion, U T khadar said that Dasara is one of the state’s prominent events, people visit Mysore from different part of world during the festivity.
Thus in order to facilitate tourists and visitors an exclusive Medical stall and vans have been allotted in different places like Chamundi Hill, Zoo, and Palace etc.
Prof G K Govind Rao opined that during Dasara, everyone should maintain cleanliness and maintain good health. He also expressed his happiness and said that the Dasara committee has taken good initiative towards the tourists activities in Mysore
‘Art Yoga Dasara’
R V Deshpande inaugurated Yoga Dasara accompanied by Jayamala, Rajenedra Singh Babu and Sundar Raj.
Speaking after the inaugural Deshpande said that the Art Yoga is very important in life to maintain good health and live long life. He is glad that Yoga is part of Dasara 2014 and is being implemented in the hotels for the benefit of visitor and asked the committee to continue after Dasara also.
A 5-year-old girl, named Tanushree demonstrated Jala yoga; she performs 60 types of yoga. Deshpande and others were stunned by seeing the talent of that kid and wished their parents and asked for her to be encouraged.
‘Dasara Food Mela’
The Food Mela that showcased several delicacies was inaugurated by V Srinivasa Prasad and Dinesh Gundu Rao.
The event was cherished by the localities as well as the representatives.

CM Siddaramaiah inaugurated the ‘Dasara – Film Festival’
Prominent actors such as Ambareesh, Rajendra Babu Singh and others were present during the function which was held at Kala Bhavan Mysore.
