Communal tension: Miscreants torch tempo at Padavinangady

Mangaluru: Communal tension went on until late at night on Monday December 8, as a fish tempo was allegedly set on fire by few miscreants.

The tempo – KA 19 B 4614, was parked at Padavinangady junction when the incident took place. The miscreants set the tempo that was used to transport fish on fire and fled.

On learning about the incient, the Kavoor and Kankanady police rushed on the spot and tried to douse the fire. Later the fire engine arrived from Kadri and they were successful in extinguishing the blaze.

However, the vehicle was completely burnt by then; the owner of the tempo has also not been identified as no one has come to claim the tempo, yet.

DCP K V Jagadish arrived on the spot, a case has been registered at Kankanady police station.
