Mysuru: The annual car festival of Sri Mahabaleshwaraswamy was held at Chamundi Hills on Wednesday March 23.
The idol of Mahabaleshwara adorned with Golden Crown was taken out in a flower bedecked chariot around the hill covering the main entrance and the temple of Goddess Chamundeshwari.
Braving morning mist, the devotees gathered in large numbers pulled the chariot holding on to the rope with much devotion. Police band rendered musical note adding to the religious fervour in the festival.
Wooden equipment used to manually control the wheels of the chariot were worshipped before the start of the car festival. Chamundeshwari Temple Executive Officer Yathiraj Sampathkumaran and the members of the Temple Committee were present.
