Chamarajanagara: The District Administration, District Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood Department, Town Municipal Council, and Moodaladhwani Old Age Home Trust jointly celebrated World Homeless Day on Monday October 10. Urban Planning Director Sudha inaugurated the programme by watering a sapling.
Addressing the gathering, Sudha said that senior citizens become homeless for many reasons. The Town Municipal Council opened a shelter for such people and homeless refugees are being taken care of under the Day NULM scheme.
She said Mudaladhwani Refugee Centre is well managed in the State and elderly citizens should give more attention to their health and maintain their health by doing daily yoga and meditation.
Municipal Planning Officer Venkatanayake, Dr. Umarani, Skill Department Manager Dr. Puttaswamy, Amjad Pasha, Ansar Khan, Naveen, President of Moodaladhwani Vriddashrama Shankar and others were present at the programme.
On the occasion, free health check-up was conducted and free medicines were given to the elderly of the ashram.
