Koppal: A ram, popularly known as the ‘Bull of Gandhi Nagar’, who represented Kushtagi and won the battle in any part of the State, died on night of Friday November 11 due to ill-health.
The ram, who died untimely, was a favourite of Jambanna Dollen of Benchamatti Village of the District. By securing the first place, it had earned the reputation of being the undefeated warrior. Though Jambanna was offered Rs. 3 Lakh for ram, Jambanna did not sell the same.
The ram had won as many a 14 first, and second prizes and lakhs of rupees. He was reared by the owner as if his own family member.
However, the ram was not well since few days. Jambanna took the ram to local veterinary hospital and was also examined at Koppal Veterinary Hospital for further treatment as its urine flow was blocked. But the fact that the ram is no more has left Jambanna Dollin’s family very sad.
The deceased ram was paraded on a bullock cart in the Village and cremated in a ceremonial manner.
