Udupi: Former Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake said, “I have served the people without any black spot in my political career. I have been with the people even when I was in power or when I did not have power and responded to the problems of the people. When I was in power, I did development work beyond the expectations of the people, he asserted and added that the current election will be the last election of his political career.
He was speaking at a meeting of Congress leaders led by Udyavara Rural Congress Committee. “Despite losing the last assembly elections, people and workers never abandoned me. I have worked without any loss of faith reposed in me by the voters, workers and fans of the Constituency. Though I am currently a Former MLA, people are in touch with me like every day, telling me about their problems and I am responding to it. The BJP Leaders, who are ruling the State in the name of Hindutva, tried to demolish various temples in the State,” he said and added that the BJP did not back down from its decision fearing protests from the people after the demolition of the historic temple in Nanjanagudu.
“I have not taken into account any caste or religion, whether with or without power. I have fought for the holistic development of Kaup Assembly Constituency irrespective of party affiliations and have succeeded with the cooperation of the people. At present, there is a good atmosphere for the Congress Party in the State and the Congress is sure to win in the assembly elections,” he noted.
