Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker U T Khader, accompanied by his wife Lamees Khader and daughter Hawwa Naseema, exercised their right to vote at Ranthadka Higher Primary School in Jaradagudde near Boliyar in Mangaluru this morning.
After casting his vote, Khader emphasized the importance of voting, stating, “Vote is our right. Every eligible voter must do his duty by voting without any apathy. Everyone has an equal opportunity in voting: it’s a single vote for a rich man and the same for a poor. So everyone must execute this constitutional right to equality.”
Addressing the issue of low voter turnout in urban areas despite the priority given to them in development initiatives, Khader urged all city dwellers to actively participate in the voting process.
Accompanying Khader were his personal assistant Muhammad Libzath, Congress leader Jabbar Boliyar, and other supporters.
