Mangaluru: Manjushree Kedambadi, a descendant of freedom fighter Kedambadi Ramayya Gowda, has topped Dakshina Kannada distzrict with 591 marks in the PU examination.
Manjushree Kedambadi is the daughter of Theertharama Kedambadi and Sandhya Kedambadi of Ubaradka Mithoor Village in Sullia. Manjushree is the fifth generation of Ramayya Gowda, who fought against the British with various tactics.
Manjushree had her primary education at KVG International Public School in Sullia and completed her PUC from Vivekananda College in Puttur.
Kedambadi Ramayya was the architect of the Amara Sullia rebellion that took place before the First War of Independence. He was a fighter and revolutionary who united the peasants from Sullia against the British and led the Amara Sullia Rebellion in 1837.
