Karwar: Officials have seized 19 litres of Goa liquor that was being transported in a Bolero pick-up vehicle in front of Anamoda excise investigation station in taluk.
Lakshmipathy R, a resident of Davanagere district, was transporting Goa liquor illegally. He has been taken into custody.
The estimated value of the seized liquor and the vehicle is Rs 8,33,440.
The raid was carried out under his direction and under the guidance of Shankargowda Patil, Deputy Superintendent of Excise, Yellapur sub-division. Mallannavara, constables S.B. Bansode, S.D. Rathod and U.N. Tulji were present. Excise Sub-Inspector T.B. Mallannavara, who was posted on duty on succeeded in seizing the illicit liquor on the first day itself.
