Karwar: An incident took place on Wednesday May 17 in which a huge branch of a tree fell near the Shatabdi Bhavan of the Rotary Club of the City. As a result electric wires and two bikes parked under a tree were damaged.
There was a traffic jam for sometime on the road next to the post office. Traffic Police handled traffic problems. Fortunately there were no casualties. The power line was damaged due to a tree trunk falling on the power line.
Ward member Reshma Malsekar came to the spot and informed the Municipal Council. Later, the Municipal staff came to the spot and removed the dead tree trunk. HESCOM crew repaired the power line. There was a power cut in the surrounding area for sometime.
