Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has announced his intention to propose the renaming of Ramanagara district to Bengaluru Dakshina district to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the near future.
While speaking in Bengaluru, he mentioned that he has initiated a public opinion survey regarding the renaming of Ramanagara district as Bangalore South District. He assured that the district’s renaming is in the works and that he is personally conducting the survey, which has already garnered positive responses from the public.
Following the renaming of Ramanagara district, the government aims to transform Ramanagara, Channapatnam, Kanakapura, and Magadi taluks into satellite towns. He also mentioned plans to conduct a survey to extend the metro system to all four taluks.
