Udupi: An estimated 73.94 per cent of the 1386479 voters in Udupi – Chikmagalur constituency exercised their franchise today, The voting has been most peaceful and voters went to the polling booths with enthusiasm throughout the day.

Udupi – 76.81 percent ,190785  Vote          

Kundapur – 76. 31 percent , 188529 Vote           

Kaup – 76.90 percent ,164569  vote          

Karkala – 78.99 percent,167650   Vote         

Sringeri – 76.46 percent ,153965 vote

Mudigere – 72.19 percent ,156927 vote

Chikka mangalur – 63.33 percent , 197537 vote 

Tarikeri – 70.56 percent , 166517   Vote               

Total  Vote : 1386479 .

In the By election it was 68.10 , In 2009 68.47 was the voting rate .

Highlights of the day 

At  Udupi-Chikmagalur constituency Congress candidate JP Hegde’s 90-year-old mother, Girija Hegde casted her vote in the constituency.  and Also, a groom from Kaup, Mechanical Engineer, Shameer Ahamed, who came from Dubai, who every year visits country to cast his vote at his constituency.
