Kagwad Congress MLA Raju Kage made a controversial statement while addressing an election rally in Mamdapur on Tuesday. While criticizing the BJP and the youth who raise ‘Modi’ slogans, he asked if Modi dies tomorrow, would no one become Prime Minister? With a population of 140 crore, does the country lack a potential successor if he passes away? He asked the crowd.

He lashed out at the PM for living a lavish life, claiming that Modi travels in an aircraft worth Rs 3,000 and wears a suit worth Rs 4 lakh. He stated that if he gets Rs 4 lakh, he would leave behind his family and join a monastery. Kage also criticized Chikkodi MP Anna Saheb Jolle and his wife, who seek votes by showing Modi’s face. He questioned why they were contesting the election if people have to vote solely based on Modi.

Kage said that if something happens to them, it would be the local leaders who come to the people’s rescue, not Modi.
