Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal who was behind the bars in connection with alleged liquor policy scam has got a big relief, the Supreme Court has given Delhi Chief Minister interim bail till June 1.
The court specified that the additional bail conditions forKejriwal would mirror those imposed on AAP leader Sanjay Singh during his interim relief granted by the top court. Mr. Singh, a Rajya Sabha MP, was arrested in the same case last October and was granted bail after spending six months in jail.
Of notable importance, Singh was permitted to engage in political activities, including campaigning for the party. This is the same privilege Kejriwal is expected to receive now.
The AAP supremo was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21 in the alleged Delhi liquor excise policy scam, he must be surrendered to prison authorities by June 2.
