In a piece of surprising news, actress Lena has announced her marriage to Captain Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair, one of the four astronauts who has been selected for the Indian Space Research Organisation’s human spaceflight programme – Gaganyaan. Lena announced her marriage on her Instagram handle on Tuesday, hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi named Nair among the test pilots undergoing training for Gaganyaan.
In her post, Lena revealed that she got married to Nair on January 17 this year. “Today , 27 February, 2024, our Prime Minister Modi ji Awarded the First Indian Astronaut Wings to Indian Air Force Fighter Pilot Group Captain Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair. It is a historic moment of pride for our country, our state of Kerala, and me personally,” she wrote.
“In order to maintain the officially required confidentiality, I was waiting for this announcement to let you know that I got married to Prasanth on 17 January, 2024 in a traditional ceremony through an arranged marriage,” the actress added. Check out her post here:

Thiruvazhiyad, Kerala is the birthplace of Group Captain Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair, who was born on August 26, 1976. Naid, who received the Sword of Honour from the Air Force Academy and was an NDA alum, was commissioned on December 19, 1998, in the IAF’s fighter stream. With roughly 3,000 hours of flying experience, he is a test pilot and a Cat A flying instructor. Among the aircraft he has flown are the Su-30 MKI, MiG-21, MiG-29, Hawk, Dornier, An-32, and others. He also holds DS positions at DSSC, Wellington, and FIS, Tambaram, and is a graduate of the United States Staff College. He oversaw a top-tier combat squadron, the Su-30 Sqn.
Besides Nair, the other three astronauts who have been chosen for the mission are Group Captain Ajit Krishnan, Group Captain Angad Pratap and Wing Commander Shubhanshu Shukla.
