Mangaluru: On the occasion of World Water Day, the centre for environmental studies of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) took the initiative to provide water for birds by placing water-filled birdbaths in different locations of the campus to support birds for drinking, bathing and cooling themselves.

A birdbath is an attraction for many different species of birds to visit gardens, especially during summer and drought periods. Birdbaths that provide a reliable source of water year-round add to the popularity and microhabitat support.

Dr Bhagya B. Sharma, Assistant Director organized the event.

A total of five birdbaths were placed in the Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) campus on 22.03.2022.
